Refer to NTI story NTICOP. Evil David Parfitt, now 35, was caged for killing dog handler Pc Ged Walker ñ the first Nottinghamshire Police officer to die in the line of duty since 1978. Pc Walker suffered horrific head injuries when he was dragged 100 yards when he tried to remove the keys from the ignition of a taxi Parfitt was trying to steal in January 2003. The brave police officer died in hospital two days later. Parfitt, who was on licence from prison at the time of the killing in Bulwell, Nottingham, was jailed for 12 years plus an extra year for driving offences in January 2003. He was released again on licence in March this year after serving nine years but in May ñ less than three months later ñ he brutally attacked his new girlfriend who he met online. Parfitt has been jailed for two years at Leicester Crown Court after he was convicted of actual bodily harm and given an additional six months for attempting to pervert the course of justice.
