Five U.S. Marines died Wednesday after their training jet crashed in Southern California.

The cause of the crash near Glamis, Calif., was unclear. The Third Marine Aircraft Wing is investigating.

The MV-22B can take off and land like a helicopter but transit like a turboprop. Capt. Jordan Thorp said the plane only had five Marines.
